# Holiday calendar

> Review the suggested holidays for a work location and year, correct them and confirm the calendar Tivero uses to count requests.

Tivero suggests holidays from its calendar provider. You review them for each work location and year, correct anything that differs for you, and confirm. Leave is calculated **only from a confirmed calendar**.

**Who:** HR, Administrator, Owner.
**Where:** **Settings → Working days and holidays**, section **Holiday calendar by work location**.

## Confirm the calendar

<Steps>
  <Step title="Choose the work location and year">
    Choose the **Work location** and the **Year**. You confirm each work location and each year separately.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Review the holidays">
    Check every date on the list. The **Verified by Tivero** or **Provider data** label tells you where the suggestion comes from.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Correct it if needed">
    Use the actions next to a holiday (described below) if something differs for you.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Confirm">
    Click **Confirm the … calendar** with the selected year. You confirm exactly the calendar shown.
  </Step>
</Steps>

**Result:** the status changes to **Confirmed** with the confirmation date. From then on, people at this work location can submit requests for that year.

<Warning>
  In some countries, whether a holiday is a day off depends on contracts or collective agreements. Tivero shows a note when this applies. The provider's suggestion is not legal advice — your organization decides which calendar applies.

## Correct a holiday

| Action                              | What it does                                                                                                                                                |
| ----------------------------------- | ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Treat as a normal scheduled day** | The holiday isn't a day off for you — it counts as a normal day according to the schedule. Undo it with **Restore holiday**. |
| **Move holiday** | The holiday becomes a normal day, and the date you choose (**Day off instead**) becomes a day off at this work location. Enter the **Name of the day off**. |

Your company days off and working days for the year show under **Your company days off and working days this year**. You add them in [Company days](/en/calendars/company-days).

## Update from the provider

If the provider changes a calendar you've already confirmed, Tivero shows a **A calendar update from the provider is available** card listing added and removed holidays.

* Until you accept it, leave is calculated from the calendar you confirmed.
* Click **Accept update** to apply it. Your corrections stay.

## Each person's calendar

Each person is counted against the holidays of their own work location. By default, that's the organization's work location. You change it on the person page — see [Work locations](/en/calendars/work-locations).
