# Work schedules

> Set the regular work week for the organization, for locations and for individual people.

The regular work week is your organization's configuration — Tivero counts leave requests from it.

**Who:** HR, Administrator, Owner.
**Where:** **Settings → Working days and holidays**, section **Work schedules**; a person's schedule is on their person page.

## How schedules work

A person's schedule is chosen in this order:

1. **Own schedule**, if one is set.
2. **Location weeks** — the schedule of the person's work location, if one is set.
3. **Organisation week** — in all other cases.

Every schedule uses a **week template**: a set of working days (for example Mon–Fri).

## Week templates

Under **Week templates**, click **Add template**, enter the **Name** and tick the **Working days**. A work week needs at least one working day.

<Note>
  A template's days never change once saved. If you need a different week, create a new template and assign it from a chosen date.
</Note>

## Change the organization or location week

<Steps>
  <Step title="Choose the schedule">
    Under **Organisation week** or **Location weeks**, click **Change** and choose a template.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Choose the date">
    In **From**, choose the date the change applies from.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Save">
    Click **Change from this date**.
  </Step>
</Steps>

A location without its own schedule uses the organisation week. To make a location go back to the organisation week, use **Restore inheritance from date**. You can withdraw a scheduled change with **Cancel planned change**.

## A person's schedule

On the person page, in the **Work schedule** section, you see where the person's schedule comes from (**Own schedule**, **From the location** or **From the organisation**). You can set an individual schedule there from a chosen date.

## Statutory transfers

The **Statutory transfers** option decides whether Tivero applies statutory working-day transfers (for example a working Saturday):

* **Apply (general schedule)** — transfers apply.
* **Do not apply** — transfers don't apply.

## Changes and submitted requests

A schedule change applies from the chosen date and never recalculates requests that were already submitted.
