# Microsoft 365 overview

> What the Microsoft 365 integration gives you: people synced from Entra ID, absences in Outlook calendars and approvals in Microsoft Teams.

The Microsoft 365 integration connects Tivero to your organization's directory and tools.

## Requirements

| Requirement        | Details                                                                                                                                                                                        |
| ------------------ | ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Role in Tivero** | Integrations are set up by an Administrator or the Owner.                                                                                                                                      |
| **Tivero plan**    | Outlook calendar sync — from the Start plan. People import, automatic directory sync and Microsoft Teams — the Growth or Enterprise plan. During the trial, all Growth features are available. |
| **Microsoft 365**  | A Microsoft 365 administrator in your organization to grant consent. Publishing the app in Teams needs a Teams administrator.                                                                  |

## What Tivero does and doesn't do

* Tivero **reads** data from your Microsoft 365 directory. It never writes anything to it.
* In calendars, Tivero creates and removes only the events for its own absences.
* The Tivero app for Teams isn't available in the Microsoft Teams store. An administrator publishes it in your organization's app catalog.
