# Microsoft Teams

> Publish the Tivero app in Teams, turn on notifications with in-chat approvals, and set up the Tivero tabs.

With the Tivero app in Microsoft Teams, approvers get requests in a private chat and decide without leaving Teams, and employees see their absences and team availability in tabs.

**Who:** an Administrator or the Owner in Tivero, a Microsoft 365 administrator (consent) and a Teams administrator (publishing the app).
**Prerequisites:** a [connected Microsoft 365 integration](/en/microsoft-365/connect), people [synced from the directory](/en/microsoft-365/directory-sync), and the Growth or Enterprise plan (or the trial).
**Where:** **Integrations → Microsoft 365 → Microsoft Teams**.

## Set up Teams

  <Step title="Grant administrator consent">
    If Tivero shows **Microsoft Teams administrator consent required**, click **Grant administrator consent**. A Microsoft 365 administrator allows Tivero, once, to read the Teams app catalog and install only the Tivero app in it.

  <Step title="Download the app package">
    In the **Teams app package** section, click **Download the Tivero package**.

  <Step title="Publish the app in your organization">
    A Teams administrator uploads the package in Teams Admin Center: **Teams apps → Manage apps → Upload new app**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Turn on notifications">
    Turn on **Teams notifications**. Tivero installs the app for the people who need it. Microsoft may take a moment — notifications start arriving on their own.

  <Step title="Check it works">
    Click **Send a test notification**.

<Note>
  The Tivero app isn't available in the Microsoft Teams store. Your organization's catalog holds a copy of the package as it was when you published it — a newer version doesn't arrive on its own. If the **Current version** in Tivero differs from the one in Teams Admin Center, upload it again through **Manage apps → Tivero → Update**.

## Notifications and approvals in chat

* Requests and decisions arrive in a private chat with the Tivero app.
* A request card has **Approve**, **Decline** and **Details** buttons. The same permissions apply as in the Tivero app.
* If the request was already decided elsewhere, the card shows that and doesn't let anyone decide twice.
* Private absence types show as "Absence".
* Email notifications keep working.

## Tivero tabs in Teams

The app has two tabs:

| Tab             | What it shows                                                          |
| --------------- | ---------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **My absences** | Your balance and absences. You can also submit a **New request** here. |
| **Team**        | Team availability.                                                     |

Before employees open the tabs, an administrator in your organization has to approve access with Microsoft once: in Tivero, click **Set up Teams tabs**. Without it the tabs can't sign anybody in.

## People without notifications

If Tivero shows **Some people cannot receive notifications**, check that these people have a Microsoft Teams licence and an active account in your organization.

## Turn off notifications

Turn off **Teams notifications**. New notifications aren't sent to Teams. The app stays installed.
