System types

Every workspace starts with a set of system types. The columns on the Absence types list show each type’s unit, whether it Deducts balance, whether it Requires approval, and its visibility. For a system type, you can change only the name, privacy and active state. The category, unit and balance impact are fixed.
You record medical leave (L4) in Tivero as an absence. Tivero doesn’t accept L4 documents — don’t attach documents or medical details to a request.

Add a custom type

Custom types are available on plans that include them. See Plans and trial.
1

Open the form

Click Add type.
2

Describe the type

Enter the Name and choose the Category (Employee (UoP), B2B or Other) and the Unit (Days or Hours).
3

Set the behavior

Turn Deducts from balance, Requires approval, Details visible to everyone and Active on or off.
4

Save

Click Add type.
A new type becomes available to people only when their absence policy covers it.

Privacy of details

When Details visible to everyone is off, the type is private. Only the employee, their manager and HR see the details. Everyone else sees just the word “Absence” in the calendar.

Turn a type off

Turn off Active if the type shouldn’t be available in new requests. Existing requests stay unchanged.
